Multifunctional Analysis of the State Administration Bodies of the Republic of Croatia in the Implementation of Control and Protection of the Rights and Interests in the East Coast of the Adriatic Sea

ABSTRACT: The paper has conducted a structural analysis of the relevant state administration bodies of the Republic of Croatia regarding the operational efficiency of implementing the protection of rights and interests in the marine and underwater areas of the semi-enclosed Adriatic Sea, where the respective coastal state (the Republic of Croatia) exercises jurisdiction in accordance with international law. A comprehensive overview of all components of the system, as well as some sensors of the state administration bodies of the Republic of Croatia involved in the implementation of control, monitoring, and protection of rights and interests in the Adriatic Sea – the eastern part, has been synthesized. An analysis of maritime traffic security was conducted. Data on ship, cargo, and passenger traffic in the seaports of the respective coastal state were collected. The analysis covered a four-year period between 2019 and 2022.
