ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to highlight some operational and system issues that are frequently en?countered by navigators trying to get to grips with ECDIS. This information should also be beneficial to man?agers and owners who are making decisions about which system and chart format to buy, and the priority that should be given to formal training ahead of a mandatory requirement.
